Charles Joseph HEINTZ (5) was born on 16 Aug 1863 in Batavia, Genesee, NY.(1) He died on 22 Mar 1914 in Batavia, Genesee, NY.(5) His death followed only a week's illness from Pneumonia - Charles J. Heintz died at 9 o'clock last evening at his homw, No 548 East Main Street, after a week's illness with pneumonia. Mr. Heintz was born in Batavia. He worked for a time with his father in the quarry business on the Lewiston Road in Batavia and for ten years conducted a grocery store at No 504 East Main St. He retired from the grocery business town years ago and had since been employed at the harvester works.
Mr. Heintz's brother, John R. Heintz who for many years was in the brokerage business in Buffalo, died from pneumonia after a brief illness in that city on December 10th last. Charles J. Heintz was well known and respected in Batavia and his death wil be mourned by a wide circle of firends. He was a bember fo the Independent Order of Foresters. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Norris, 20 years old, Harold, 14, and Myron, seven and two daughters Lucile, 18 years old, and Marian, 16, all of Batavia. He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Heintz of Batavia, and a brother, Henry Heintz of Covington, VA. The funeral will be at 3 pm Wednesday, from the house, and the interment will be in Grand View Cemetery. Heintz has givenup hhis position with the Central Railroad Company and has leased the vacant store at No 504 Easst Main Street, where he will engage in the grocery, four and feed business. He expects to commence business about July 9th. His many friends will wish him success.

Return of Charles J. heintz - Grocer Charles. J. Heintz arrived homw on the 12:35 Central train this morning. He says that between the time that he was trading in the vicinity of Elk street market Tuesday morning, and yesterday morning, when he awoke in a sleeping room in a second - class hotel in Erie, PA, everything is a blank to him, aside from the fact that he remebers seeing Henry Craft of Batavia in Buffalo Tuesday afternoon. He was feeling ill when he left home Tuesday morning.

Charles J. Heintz and Miss Sarah J. Norris, both of Batavia, were married last evenin at the parsonage on East Main Street by the Rev. C.A. Johnson, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Sarah J. NORRIS (4) (photo) was born on 8 Nov 1869 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She died on 9 Dec 1936 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. (5) Mrs. Sarah J. Heintz, 67, widow of Charles J. Heintz, died at her home, No 5 Redfield Parkway, at 8:30 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Heintz had been in failing health for several months and seriously ill for the past three weeks. A resident of Batavia for the past 45 years, Mrs. Heintz was born in Kingston, Ont, on November 8, 1869. She was a member of ST. James Episcopal Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard B. Nesbitt of Batavia and Mrs. Alfred Corti of Kenmore, Ny; Two sons HaroldJ. and Norris O. (C), both of Batavia, 13 granchildren and two great granchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the H. E. Turner and Company Mortuary, the Rev. C. Davis officiating, interment will be in Grand View Cemetery. She was buried on 11 Dec 1936 in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia, Genesee, NY. In 1910, Charles' mother Mary was living with them.

child64 iv. Harold Joseph HEINTZ(1) (photo) was born on 18 Mar 1900 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. He died on 13 Mar 1982 in San Francisco, San Francisco, CA. Information also in Batavia Daily News. At the age of 18 Harold enlisted in the Army and served in Europe during World War I. In 1942 he enlisted again and served two years in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of World War II. Harold was employed by the former Niagara Hudson Power Company in Batavia before moving west where he worked for the Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
child65 v. Myron Clifford HEINTZ (photo) was born on 17 Jul 1907 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. He died on 14 Mar 1920 in Batavia, Genesee, NY. He was buried in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia, Genesee, NY.
