(5) He reciecved his education in the district schools and was a faarmer by occupation. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Elba and a charter member of the Elba Grange. Mr. Jones with his brother, operated their parent's farm for many years and purchased it in 1901.

Genesee, NY. She died on 28 Feb 1939. She was buried in Maple Lawn Cemetery,
Elba, Genesee, NY.(5) She was educated
in the district schools, Cary Collegiate Seminary at Oakfield, NY, Oakwood Quaker
Seminary, then at Union Springs, NY and later located at Poughkeepsie, NY. She
taught school for several years before her marriage. She was a member of the
Presbyterian Church at Elba, the Ladies Aid Society and the Missionary Society.
and had been teacher of the Parker Class of the Sunday School for 15 years.
She was also a member of the Batavia Chapter, # 267, Order of the Eastern Star,
The Republican County Committee and a charter member of the Elba Grange. In
1925 Viola was living with her son James and was listed on the census as a restaurnateur.

increrased joy in that happy home. He was a nine pound baby! He graduated
in 1902 in Elba High School, Elba, NY.(6)
(1) In 1902 there were 5 graduates and
Eli was Vice President. Elba High School was then called Elba Union School.
He graduated in 1904 in Geneseo State Normal School, Geneseo, NY.
(6) He died on 3 Jun 1908 in Albany, NY.
(5) He died by asphyxiation the night before the day he was to graduate
from law school. Eli taught school at Bay Shore, LI, NY in 1905 and 1906. He
studied law at the Albany Law School in 1907 and 1908.
