THIRD GENERATION

17. Hersey E. WICKS ⁽⁴⁾⁽¹⁾ was born about 1836 in Elba, Genesee, NY. ⁽¹⁾ He died before 7 May 1912.⁽⁴⁾ He was buried on 10 May 1912 in Quaker Hill Cemetery, Elba, Genesee, NY.⁽⁴⁾ The funeral was held at the home of his son, Frank Wicks.Rev. Mina Harkness officiated. The bearers were Robert Graham, Frederick Berk, John Burr, and Clinton Snell. He was a mason. In 1910 two of his sons, Frank and Walter were living with him. He was admitted to the County Home on 8 Apr 1912. He was discharged on 23 Apr 1912. He proved to be insane by Dr. J.B. Miller of Alexander,NY and Dr. LeSeur of Batavia, NY and was committed to the Rochester State Hospital by the orders of Judge Washburn.

He was married to Betsey M. HICKS. Betsey M. HICKS was born about 1842.⁽¹⁾ Hersey E. WICKS and Betsey M. HICKS had the following children:

66 ii. Cora B. WICKS was born about 1869 in NY.^{(9) (7)(1)} She died on 14 Jan 1883.⁽¹⁰⁾
+67 iii. Walter WICKS.
+68 iv. Frank L. WICKS.
69 v. Major WICKS⁽¹⁾ was born about 1882. In 1905 he was a servant in the home of Westal E. Harkness on Main St. in Elba,NY.
